These are soo chocolaty, colourful and fun for kids!

Level: Easy

Serves: 18

Prep: 15 min

Cook: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

170g butter (room temp.) or margarine

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp salt

1 cup flour

½ tsp sodium bicarbonate

4 tbsp cocoa powder

200g chocolate chips

60g M&Ms

Preparation:

Preheat the fan oven on 175C and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Beat the butter, brown sugar and sugar together until soft. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract and salt. Add the flour, cocoa powder, sodium bicarbonate and mix until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Make 18 little balls (about 2 cm in diameter), put them on the baking sheet and press them down a bit if you want them crispy. If you want them chewy, leave them as balls. Put 5 M&Ms on each ball (close to each other in the middle). Bake for about 10 minutes. Take out the tray but leave the cookies on the tray for another 5 minutes. They are really soft at this point. After about 5 minutes they will be hard enough to be transferred onto a cooling rack. Let them cool down completely and enjoy!
